The clinic corridor, with its moss-panelled wall and marble surfaces

A dental clinic in Gebze where the specialists publish research — not just perform treatment.

Two peer-reviewed papers in United States journals, and a founding dentist who teaches implant surgery to other dentists. Each of the six below names the dentist it belongs to and links to its source, so you can check it without asking us.

GETTING HERE

Two airports near Gebze, not one.

Gebze sits on the eastern, Asian side of the Istanbul metropolitan area, between the city's two international airports — most journeys here do not pass through central Istanbul traffic at all.

Route from Sabiha Gökçen Airport to the clinic
SAW
15 min

Sabiha Gökçen International Airport — most flights from Europe and the Gulf.

Route from Istanbul Airport to the clinic
IST
~45 min

Istanbul Airport — most long-haul flights from North America.

*Typical drive time outside rush hour, via the Kuzey Marmara Otoyolu / third-bridge route that bypasses central Istanbul. Actual travel time depends on traffic and is not a guarantee.

If it is easier, we can help arrange your flight, your hotel, and the transfer between the airport and the clinic — mention it when you send your case and we will tell you what that looks like for your dates.

WhatsApp or email — a recent photo, and an X-ray if you already have one.

HOW IT WORKS

Send what you have — a photo taken on your phone works, and so does an X-ray taken somewhere else. One of the ten dentists who work at this clinic looks at it and separately notes anything that really needs to be seen in person. You usually get a written answer within one working day.

WHAT WE TREAT

Dental treatments we provide in Gebze

Eight treatment areas — dental implants, orthodontics, zirconia crowns and more — each with its own page. Open the one you came for: each page describes the procedure, how long it takes, and what it involves — before anyone talks about a quote.

BEFORE YOU BOOK ANYTHING

Questions worth asking before you fly, not after you land.

The answers below stay inside what can be checked. Where an honest answer needs a dentist to see you first, they say that instead of guessing.

  • How do I check that these dentists are who this page says they are?

Don't take our word for it — every claim here points somewhere we don't control. Two of the dentists have peer-reviewed research indexed on PubMed: Uzm. Dt. Umut Öğütücü (PMID 34115060) and Uzm. Dt. Rudi Boyacıyan (PMID 34652426). Boyacıyan's 2015 national exam result was reported by the newspaper Agos, and Dt. Cem Mekik holds an Osstem Implant Global Course Director certificate, on display at the clinic.

  • Who would actually treat me — and are the specialists on staff or visiting?

Ten dentists work at this one address in Gebze. Periodontology is covered in-house every working day by Uzm. Dt. Umut Öğütücü, and orthodontics by Uzm. Dt. Rudi Boyacıyan — specialists on staff, not flying in for certain dates. Ask for the name of the dentist who would carry out your treatment, then look that name up yourself.

  • Is the consultation in English?

Yes — the written reply you get before travelling and your consultation at the clinic are both in English. One habit worth keeping in any language: ask for the treatment plan in writing, so nothing important rests on what either side remembers from a conversation.

  • Is the clinic legally licensed, and what should I ask to see?

The clinic is registered as Özel Dent Gebze Ağız ve Diş Sağlığı Polikliniği — a private oral and dental health polyclinic, the category licensed by the Ministry of Health in Türkiye. It also holds an International Health Tourism Authorization Certificate from the Turkish Ministry of Health (No. ST-6455, issued 24.10.2025) — ask to see it, or check it yourself: it carries verification code 0F0994B1-3FF8-44B4-8F48-C75B22D5D218, checkable at turkiye.gov.tr. We hold no international hospital accreditation such as JCI or TEMOS, and would rather write that here than let you assume otherwise. Ask any clinic for its operating license and for the diploma of the dentist who would treat you.

  • Can you give me a price before you examine me?

Not a final one, honestly. What the treatment costs depends on how many teeth are involved, their current condition, whether preparation such as a root canal or bone grafting is needed, and the laboratory work behind the restoration. A figure quoted from a photograph can move once a dentist sees the bone on an X-ray — so treat any early number as an estimate and ask what would change it.

  • How long would I need to be in Türkiye?

It depends on things a dentist can only judge after seeing your jaw: whether there is enough bone or grafting is needed first, how long the implant takes to fuse with the bone (osseointegration), and whether the prosthetic stage fits into one visit or two. Some plans are split across two trips with a healing period in between — ask for that split in writing before you book a flight.

  • What should I send before I travel?

A recent photo of the teeth that concern you, plus any X-ray or 3D scan you already have, even an older one. Add your medications and any condition that affects healing — diabetes, a heart condition, a bleeding disorder, anything involving your immune system — and mention if you smoke. Those shape what a dentist can realistically plan, and sending them early is what turns a generic reply into one about your case.

  • When would you tell me I am not a suitable candidate?

It happens, and it is far better said before a flight than after one. Implants are generally not recommended while the jaw is still developing, so children and some younger patients are steered towards other options. Uncontrolled diabetes, smoking, bleeding disorders and thin bone can each mean a delay, a preparatory step such as grafting, or a different treatment altogether — the assessment decides that, not the booking.

  • What should I expect around anesthesia and pain?

Implant placement is carried out under local anesthesia, and patients typically feel little to no pain during the procedure itself. Mild swelling or tenderness for a few days afterwards is common, and is managed with the aftercare instructions your dentist gives you. Tell the clinic your return date early, so the aftercare plan takes the journey home into account.

  • Are the crowns made here, or sent out to another laboratory?

They are produced in the clinic's own digital laboratory, which keeps the impression, design and production steps under one roof rather than in a queue somewhere else. The honest limit: that does not mean same-day teeth. Single-visit design and delivery is possible in digital dentistry for straightforward cases, but it is not something to plan your trip around until a dentist has looked at yours.
